Description: Redevelopment of the category A listed building which houses a main concert hall and museum galleries plus erection of a new build block housing offices, education room, rehearsal and back of house facilities. Engagement and consultation with users of the space were critical to a successful acoustic outcome. With key factors in the design including the enhancement of the halls unique acoustic and working within the confines of the historic structures to achieve increased sound insulation and reduction in noise from external environmental sources and buildings services.
